About me:
Brian “HEBS” Hebets is a Fine Artist, born and raised in San Diego, California. Grew up in the 80’s and became obsessed with art, sharks and the movie JAWS. He had his very own real-life Chief Brody at home. His Father, Bruce Hebets, served as a Sergeant for the San Diego Harbor Police. The Father/son ride alongs on the Patrol boats always felt like they're out hunting on the Orca. His childhood fueled with visual inspiration from artists, movies, comics and Marine Life. That same creative engine never stopped. The eagerness to expand his skills lead him to pursue the Digital Art world and more. Altogether, 30 years of study in Fine Arts along with a degree in Media Arts and Animation for Visual Effects. Studied and experimented alongside fellow artists and muralists mastering their craft, gaining knowledge and experience that helped him develop his style.
He’s exhibited work in galleries throughout California all the way to Art basel in Miami. Teamed up with Non-profit organizations such as Imperial Beach Arts Bureau, Pangeaseed Foundation’s Seawalls: Murals for Oceans, Surfrider Foundation and Cohort Collective painting large scale public murals for local communities.
Over time he’s been able to expand on his vision, infusing new and old techniques to achieve the details in his work. The beauty and symbolism of the Great White Shark is forever embedded in him. Its a daily mindset that drives his art.
